Sales/BDM - Audio Visual

Job Description

We are small family run business who offer specialist system design, supply installation and maintenance services. We are seeking a Sales/BDM - Audio Visual on a Full time basis, to support the growth of our Audio Visual division by developing new business opportunities and managing client relationships across London and the South east.

Our AV services may include (depending on project requirements):

  • Commercial Displays & Digital Signage

  • AV Cabling & Infrastructure

  • Sound Systems

  • Meeting Room / Boardroom AV

  • Control Systems

Reporting to the Operations Manager successful candidates will ultimately be responsible for generating new enquiries, building a strong sales pipeline, and converting opportunities into confirmed orders while maintaining our high standards of customer service.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Proactively generating new sales opportunities and building an AV sales pipeline

  • Managing inbound enquiries and converting leads into quotations and orders

  • Meeting clients on site or remotely to understand requirements and propose solutions

  • Working with internal teams to produce accurate quotations and scopes of work

  • Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers to support pricing, availability and specification

  • Updating CRM and sales activity records accurately (including SIMPRO where applicable)

  • Providing regular pipeline updates and forecasting to management

  • Supporting tender responses and project bid submissions where required

  • Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, main contractors and site teams

  • Ensuring a professional handover of sold work into operations for delivery

  • Provide excellent Customer Service to exceed the expectations and requirements of both the internal and external customers, establishing and maintaining effective relationships with customers.

Required Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience working in a similar Sales or Business Development role (minimum 3-5 years+)

  • Strong knowledge of Audio Visual systems and solutions (or proven track record selling technical systems)

  • Confidence presenting to clients and handling technical conversations professionally

  • Ability to manage a pipeline and prioritise sales activity effectively

  • Good written skills for quotations, emails and tender responses

  • Proficiency with basic computing functions (Excel, email, CRM systems)

  • Experience working with construction industry clients or contractors (preferred)

Expected Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate strong professional qualifications and training within Sales and/or the Audio Visual sector. As a minimum we expect:

A recognised Sales qualification and/or relevant higher education (e.g. Level 3+ Sales qualification, HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent)
Evidence of continued professional development within Sales, Audio Visual or a related technical sector
Relevant AV manufacturer training and accreditations (preferred)
Full UK driving licence (preferred)

Candidates with formal AV industry certifications and manufacturer training (for example in displays, control systems, conferencing, or digital signage) will be at an advantage.

Future Developments and Opportunities

Training and supervision would be provided but it is expected that the successful candidate would continually increase their market and technical competence on their own initiative.

Development from the initial role could be driven by the successful candidate as the company grows to progress to Senior BDM, Sales Manager and Management roles.

What's on Offer

  • This is a Full time field based position working primarily in London and the South east.

  • Working hours to be 8am-5pm Monday to Friday although some flexibility may be required

  • 20 days holiday + Bank Holidays + extra day for birthday

  • Salary: £35,000 to £45,000/year depending on experience
