Sales/BDM - Fire
Job Description
We are small family run business who offer specialist system design, supply installation and maintenance services. We are seeking a Sales/BDM - Fire on a Full time basis, to support the growth of our Fire division by developing new business opportunities and managing client relationships across London and the South east.
Our Fire services may include (depending on project requirements):
Fire Alarm Systems
Smoke Detection Systems
AOV / Smoke Vent Systems (where applicable)
Emergency Lighting (where applicable)
Associated containment, cabling and compliance documentation
Reporting to the Operations Manager successful candidates will ultimately be responsible for generating new enquiries, building a strong sales pipeline, and converting opportunities into confirmed orders while maintaining our high standards of customer service.

Key Areas of Responsibility
Proactively generating new sales opportunities and building a Fire sales pipeline
Managing inbound enquiries and converting leads into quotations and orders
Meeting clients on site or remotely to understand requirements and propose compliant solutions
Working with internal teams to produce accurate quotations, specifications and scopes of work
Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers to support pricing, availability and specification
Supporting tender responses and project bid submissions where required
Updating CRM and sales activity records accurately (including SIMPRO where applicable)
Providing regular pipeline updates and forecasting to management
Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, main contractors and site teams
Ensuring a professional handover of sold work into operations for delivery
Provide excellent Customer Service to exceed the expectations and requirements of both the internal and external customers, establishing and maintaining effective relationships with customers.

Required Experience, Knowledge & Skills
Experience working in a similar Sales or Business Development role (minimum 3-5 years+)
Strong knowledge of fire systems and life safety requirements within construction projects
Confidence discussing specifications, compliance and programme requirements with clients
Ability to manage a pipeline and prioritise sales activity effectively
Good written skills for quotations, emails and tender responses
Proficiency with basic computing functions (Excel, email, CRM systems)
Experience working with main contractors, developers or M&E consultants (preferred)
Expected Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate strong professional qualifications and training within Sales and/or the Fire sector. As a minimum we expect:
A recognised Sales qualification and/or relevant higher education (e.g. Level 3+ Sales qualification, HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent)
Evidence of continued professional development within Sales, Fire or a related technical sector
Relevant Fire industry training and manufacturer accreditations (preferred)
Full UK driving licence (preferred)
Candidates with additional fire sector qualifications and professional memberships will be at an advantage.
Future Developments and Opportunities
Training and supervision would be provided but it is expected that the successful candidate would continually increase their market and technical competence on their own initiative.
Development from the initial role could be driven by the successful candidate as the company grows to progress to Senior BDM, Sales Manager and Management roles.
What's on Offer
This is a Full time field based position working primarily in London and the South east.
Working hours to be 8am-5pm Monday to Friday although some flexibility may be required
20 days holiday + Bank Holidays + extra day for birthday

Salary: £35,000 to £45,000/year depending on experience
