Project Overview

AAA was appointed to design, supply, install, and commission an integrated video door entry and access control system for Brooke House, Gunnersbury Lane, delivering secure, centralised access management across the residential development.

The solution combined a Comelit digital video door entry system with an ACTpro access control system, providing residents with high-quality video communication and controlled access, while enabling building management to oversee system activity through a centralised platform.

The door entry system comprised Comelit digital entrance panels installed at main access points, with Comelit 7Top touchscreen handsets fitted within each apartment. This provided residents with clear video identification of visitors, two-way communication, and direct control over door release functions.

Access control was delivered using ACTpro MIFARE proximity technology, with a combination of internal panel mount readers and external mullion readers installed across multiple doors. Each controlled door was equipped with magnetic locking, push-to-exit devices, and self-resetting switches, ensuring secure operation while maintaining compliance with fire safety requirements.

A dedicated security network infrastructure was installed using TP-Link managed PoE switches, supporting both the door entry and access control systems. Equipment was housed within distributed data cabinets, with Cat 6 CPR-compliant structured cabling installed throughout the building to provide reliable connectivity and allow for future expansion.

Additional works included access control and CCTV integration for the external bike storage area, installation of a fireman’s override switch at the main entrance, and upgrades to entrance panels to meet DDA requirements, including braille and high-visibility features.

The installation was fully tested and commissioned, including system integration, network verification, and operational checks. Comprehensive documentation and training were provided to building management, ensuring effective system operation and long-term reliability across the development.
